There's a preview package sitting in my PPA for a while now. See https://launchpad.net/~fta/+archive It's fully usable, at least based on the code publicly available (hence, features living in extras/* are not included).
The thing is now, we need to work on the packaging to address the requirements mentioned above before it could enter the official repository. I don't have much time right now but it is definitely in my TODO list.
