Based on the comment here

release of the 
library pixman( 
http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/xorg-announce/2008-March/000529.html ),
seems like the issue might be resolved by using that version of pixman at 
freedesktop. Could this be released as
a patch for hardy? Or would it involve complicated dependency issues and stuff?

If not, is there any way I could fix this on my system? If so, how?
