screenshot of the failure screen. ** Description changed:
Binary package hint: debian-installer Last night I tried installing a ubuntu based distribution with a usb netboot system i made, this have been working as of the first ubuntu release until now. After finally convincing somebody to switch from windows to linux (bug- zero). I could not install ubuntu because of this bug. So i want to make this a high priority bug. The installation crashes while getting packages from the archive I assume there is a mismatch with a list of packages somewhere in the process that results in a failure to install message. (i tried different archives including the main archive) steps to reproduce: cd ~ wget http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/hardy/main/installer-i386/current/images/netboot/ubuntu-installer/i386/initrd.gz wget http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/hardy/main/installer-i386/current/images/netboot/ubuntu-installer/i386/linux qemu -m 128 -localtime -net nic -net user -kernel ~/linux -initrd ~/initrd.gz -hda /dev/zero + Just try to install and almost at the end of the "download install + components" it gets a fatal error. (see screen-shot) + Please see if this issue is solvable as soon as possible, Thanks in advance, Jelle ** Attachment added: "2008-07-10-095533_640x480_scrot.png" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/15929644/2008-07-10-095533_640x480_scrot.png -- hardy netboot installer-i386 images do not work anymore! https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/246881 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
