Lots of looking suggested that I gave up on this particular Mitsumi. Why does it work with Windows XP? I tried my Lite-On DVD combo, but got an intermittent audio cut-out problem. Finally tried a Hitachi CD-RW GCE- 8487B and that seems to work. Other than this CD/DVD hassle, I like Ubuntu.
