This bug originally was about 2 separate issues with the Users and Groups applet. The second issue is now reported as a separate bug, bug 245952. You can track the status of that bug at https://launchpad.net/bugs/245952 .
Thanks! ** Summary changed: - users and groups applet does not work as expected + unable to set multiple users to same /home ** Description changed: I am trying to add ftp users to my system with the 'users and groups' applet and it is not working correctly. When I try to add unpriveleged users, i want all of them to have the same home dir '/home/fileserver'. The applet refuses to let me do this. It says home dir already exists. - Also, when i try to select a shell of '/bin/false' the pulldown is - empty. I checked the /etc/shells and /bin/false is there. Why is the - list not populated with the data from /etc/shells? - - Why is the users and groups applet so broken? - - I guess I will have to use command line until this is fixed. ** Changed in: gnome-system-tools (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Low Status: New => Confirmed -- unable to set multiple users to same /home https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/245928 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
