Have updated openoffice.org to 1:2.4.1-1ubuntu2. The bug still exists. I'm using Kubuntu and starts OpenOffice from KDE, don't know how it works with Gnome.
When I start ooimpress from the console, I receive this output when OOo crashes: error: duplicate REP tables used Failure loading aff file /usr/lib/openoffice/share/dict/ooo/en_ZA.aff This are the same strings as in https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openoffice.org2/+bug/202738 and https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openoffice.org/+bug/90543 And I've found how to avoid the bug. The bug doesn't appear if Tools->Options->OpenOffice.org->View->Graphics output->Use hardware acceleration is unchecked. But I can't found any error messages in logs. My graphics card is Intel Corporation 82852/855GM Integrated Graphics Device. X.org uses "intel" video driver.
