I would like to point out that the fix mentioned in upstream bug only addresses less problematic part of this issue (bug 62625), but does not fix the root cause of this bug or implement a workaround for it. This is why the upstream bug is not closed yet.
We need to document the workaround for the users of problematic HW that is exposed to remaining_time bug. The workaround is to change gnome-power-manager config to use percentage charged instead of remaining time for automatic actions. See my previous comment regarding that. I think this should go in release notes of Edgy. If we are overly concerned by this behaviour (as Greg is in previous post), we could reconsider changing default value in gconf for this and use percentage charged as default. -- Dual / Two Batteries, shutdown on empty expansion battery.
