OK, I have clearly forgotton the details of my Feisty install and hence put the
wrong emphasis in my report. However, I am trying to make the point that
python-tk should be included in standard installs. Reasons:
1. If, on Hardy, I try to run a python program that imports tk, and I do so by
clicking on an icon for the program (ie NOT by typing "python program_name.pyw"
in a console window) I get no error message and so do not know to install
python-tk.
2. If I install python on Windows python-tk is included automatically and I
don't need to know about the need for tk.
3. I believe that it is also standard on the Mac
So, if a user switches to Ubuntu from another Linux, or from Windows, and
brings over python programs, they may not understand why they do not work. I am
one of those people who want people to switch to Ubuntu... If there is a better
place to report my concern please let me know. Thanks for your patience.
