Intrepid Alpha 1 Xubuntu shared folders unlock O.K. I can set the workgroup to our chosen local name, and home folder shared setup is fine as verified in /etc/samba/smb.conf. Neither one of these work on Hardy or Gutsy on this Dell Celeron. In those cases I have to manually edit smb.conf to get sharing to work.
With all the changes and updates for Intrepid I do not know what fixed the problem.
