_dan_'s suggestion above does not resolve the problem for me. Also, I forgot to mention that both machines are desktops: one machine is an AMD x64 and the other machine is an Intel x64. I did not have this issue using Gusty.
In addition to single-clicks being interpreted as double-clicks, the drag-and-select-text feature also acts a bit funny... the start position of the selection jumps to a new location during the drag-and-select-text operation.
