The same problem here, but I'm using debian unstable, without pulseaudio. MPD version: 0.13.2 I have only one pulse audio library installed (libpulse0) because it is one of the requirements of mpd. Because of this, i think it is not a pulseaudio problem. There is no error messages in /var/log/mpd/errors.log . The stop-and-then-play solves the problem (temporarily, until i change song again).
