The patches available at http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=86382 partially work, but they are huge and have not been for a year.
My patches are trivial and only solve the regression of gnome 2.20 where windows list size configuration was removed (and automatic resizing is buggy). My patches solve *the* bug with more than 7 windows opened on vertical panel.
