Thanks for reporting this issue and helping to make Ubuntu better.

I cannot reproduce this problem. When I look at the versions of
python2.5-dev and python2.5,, I see both versions (2.5.2-2ubuntu4 and
2.5.2-2ubuntu4) available.

Could it be that it was just a temporary issue in the repository while
python2.5-dev was already available in the newest version, but python2.5
not?

Could you please provide your sourcse.list files?
