I can confirm this bug. After the last kernel update, compiz goes from the login screen directly to a completely white screen. Effects are still working (e.g. if I press Alt+F4, I can see the closing-window- animation), but no window contents are visible.
This only happens when booting into the newly installed kernel 2.6.24-19. When booting 2.6.24-18, everything works fine. When I disable compiz in 2.6.24-18 and reboot into 2.6.24-19, everything also works, but without desktop effects of course. BTW, I also have an ATI video card (like the original poster), an X300. Running Xfce and fusion-icon. If you need more details I would be happy to provide them. -- [regression] Visual effects stopped working after last compiz+kernel update on fglrx https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/243073 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
