Public bug reported:

CDROMs fail to automount:

CDROM does not exist in /dev/ under hda or hdb, etc as far as I can tell.
My hard drive is sda device so there are no other hd devices on the machine.
The cdrom does not show up in the device manager at all. I knows it a Philips
DVD-RAM drive but don't recall the model.

It does boot liveCDs so it is functional.
