I can confirm this problem and the all_generic_ide fix. I noticed the
problem when trying to rip or play a CD using my DVD writer. Playback of
the CD was noisy and screechy. Ripping (sound-juicer) was extremely slow
and produced files containing the same noise and screeching. Using
all_generic_ide=1 results in UDMA2 mode instead of UDMA4 (Bios detects
UDMA2) and CD playback (and ripping) is normal again.

Thanks for the all_generic_ide workaround and let`s hope for bugfix.
