Public bug reported: Hi,
I had a problem with a machine. Ubuntu 7.10 was working properly. After upgrade to 8.04, the system does not boot, it displays busybox initramfs with no specific error. After booting with Ubuntu 8.04 Desktop CD, gparted give me errors on partition. I reinstalled, same result. The disk was a little bit old. We bought a new one, installed ubuntu on it, same result. The workaround was given by the frenchspeaking users : http://forum .ubuntu-fr.org/viewtopic.php?id=164788&p=2 Adding the "all_generic_ide" option at the kernel line on grub solved the problem. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- hardy heron does not boot on ide disk https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/243745 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
