Public bug reported: By default, Ubuntu seems to include the following line to /etc/fstab during installation:
/dev/sdb1 /media/cdrom0 udf,iso9660 user,noauto,exec,utf8 0 0 This seems to occur even in the cases where there isn't an actual optical drive connected to the computer (such as on the Lenovo Thinkpad x61s). This causes subsequent mounting of removable media, such as USB drives, to fail, given that Ubuntu will then try to mount any media as if they were CD ROMs. Description: Ubuntu 8.04.1 Release: 8.04 ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Ubuntu adds /media/cdrom to /etc/fstab on machines without optical media https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/243623 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
