We too really want this in production. I see Matthias has uploaded a source package for Intrepid (based on the Debian/Experimental one).
I am working on Backporting this to Hardy. Once I have a working package (currently experiencing an SSL problem, possibly due to libneon27-gnutls) I'll pop it up somewhere, probably PPA, and it can get tested.
