I used the pendrivelinux instructions<http://www.pendrivelinux.com/2008/05/08/usb-ubuntu-804-persistent-install-via-the-live-cd/>and it worked. Sure, I formatted with fdisk, setup my partitions etc. and it worked. Let me repeat it again: before hardy came out, I was using persistent mode with my usb stick and everything was fine. The problem here is how to get the new initrd into the iso and keep the iso bootable.
