According to your Xorg.0.log "(II) intel(0): direct rendering: Enabled" direct rendering is enabled. Could you please test it with Ubuntu Hardy Live CD and attach your current /etc/X11/xorg.conf. Maybe it is only a configuration issue. And please add each configuration/log file separate in the future. It is then much more easier to find the needed information.
