OK - I tried again - as I was able to reset the screen so it flickers again. Problem - as soon as I attach gdb from the Command-line on the same machine - the X-Server becomes unresponsive. If I do it from a remote machine through ssh - using the keeptty and dumbSched options, the X-Server stops. No possibility to reactivate it, sending a cont signal etc. also fails.
any more hints ?
