Since gedit has long since migrated to the new printing dialog, which now supports reverse printing. I see no reason why this bug can't die now. I don't know what the proper procedure is for terminating this kind of bug (the bug was never fixed, but the code it inhabited was replaced with a better alternative, thereby making the bug irrelevant), but the devs can do whatever they want with this bug report to clean up launchpad a bit.
