Sorry, I got a bit mixed up with some other bug reports. Now that I look at the metadata again after reading my previous comments, it does appear that the metadata on sdb is corrupted and the windows driver just isn't noticing. To verify, can you post the output of sudo hdparm -i /dev/sdb?
