well, we are upstream for initramfs-tools the newer versions usually are in ubuntu :) as far as i can see the debian bug was just closed without any result yet, i'll ask vagrant if he had any solution to this (probably in a different debian bug or so sicne they talk abotu moving it to initramfs-tools but there is no further reference)
