Yes, this was when upgrading from 3b5 to rc1. I didn't save the error message I'm afraid, and I didn't poke about too much to see what worked etc.
However, the error message appeared when trying to load any web page, whether local or on the net. Also, firefox wouldn't close with the close button, but I had to kill it. After restarting it, it worked fine.
