Thank you for your quick replies :) The problem happens with a external disk containing nothing but data. This disk is usually disconnected when the laptop boots, and is connected/disconnected from time to time by plugging the pccard to which it is connected to, when I need to access the data it contains. The system is thus boots and behaves normally, except that the disk is not recognized anymore when I plug the pccard, as it used to be the case before the last reboot, which occured yesterday. Once the pccard is plugged, the system stays responsive, nothing happens from a user point of view, but the message I sent are printed in the logs.
About the kernel I am using, I know it is already quite old, but nothing else is proposed by apt-get or adept. I guess this is the current version for Gutsy, but I may be wrong ? -- SATA disk not recognized https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/239832 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
