@Sympy If you receive 4 brightness step changes with 1 key-press with gnome's power manager, it seams that the gnome power manager (i suppose that is the one handling the brightness changes; but I'm not sure about that) is also affected in the same way as kde-guidance.
If that is the case, I would advice you to open a new bug against the correct gnome package, or set this bug to also affect gnome power manager. But considering the confusion, that both gnome's as well as kde's power management features are referred to as g-p-m, opening a new bug is to me to be preferred. You could very well refer to this bug in your new bug report.
