Same problem here for the ASUS A8V-MX, with 250GB SATA drive, like Jordan. I have an 40GB ATA drive with the system installed, so I can boot. I was Using the sata with an external USB case without problem, but I need to put inside (to increase the speed) and neither the partition editor (gparted) can see that. Only the ata HD (sda).
