Unfortunately, many beginners do change their menu.lst, namely by installing and using startupmanager. They set Windows as default boot option....
Furthermore, the only change that a kernel update makes to the menu.lst, is rewriting the Automagic part of the menu.lst. Manual changes to the menu.lst apply (or should apply) only to the part that is not automagic and are therefore not affected. So please, make the default choice the right choice.... I fear that many people are now using outdated kernels without being aware of that. -- After a kernel update, I am asked what to do with the old menu.lst. The wrong choice is offered by default. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/238339 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
