Hi, I just wanted to add that today I tryed the Nvidia 173.14.05 driver without any results, the computer hangs completly as usual. I had to go back to the generic driver. I'm using kernel 2.6.24-19-generic. Have any of you guys found a workaround for this issue? I haven't been able yet to enjoy linux graphics effects on the desktops (on the job I have an OpenChrome video card that sucks).
I'll be reading Nvidia forums to see what I can find. @xdevent: did you tryed the 2.6.25 or 26 kernel?
