@joelpt : I was seeing this behaviour on Win Xp either on Firefox 2.0 and report this so long ago. I think that it's not a bug of Firefox on Ubuntu but a slow behaviour of Gecko rendering engine. In fact I can see this behaviour on Camino for Mac on DeerPark on Slacky and Win and in older Mozilla Browsers on all OSs.
