Confirmed this is a very old bug but it's still alive.
Ubuntu Hardy amd64 2.6.24-18-generic No automount and function with every usb-storage devices on intel ICH7 (i945) with ehci_hcd. Works slow with your idea in usb1.1, i suggest the older bugfix that works here. sudo echo -n -1 >/sys/module/usbcore/parameters/autosuspend This parameter was at 2 with ubuntu defaults here.
