The most specific that I can be is that neither hald, gdm nor x11-common scripts seem to be started. I have to start them manually out of /etc/init.d in order to e.g. get gdm started. If you want more specific problem description ASK what you want to know - I'm not that familiar with that stuff because otherwise I could debug/analyse this myself.
