Does starting firefox from terminal change how long it takes?? Can you please list all your extensions and themes that you are running also please disable firestarter (its onlya GUI to iptables) so it wont affect your settings atleast it shouldnt and see if firefox than loads faster. I have known firestarter to cause lag but never 15 minutes of lag.
