Hi Brian, Thanks for your time on this, so far. Yes, I can find the server, and the share, but then when I double click on it, it gives the same error as above "Couldn't display "smb://buffalo/temp". There is no application for this file type" (see Screenshot-nautilus.png).
I know my machine is able to resolve the server name to an IP, as I can ping by name, and map using /etc/fstab by name as well.
