Public bug reported: My X server just crashed. It'd been running for several days, with compiz enabled using the Nvidia proprietary drivers. I pressed a button that would have opened a new window, and was immediately dropped to text-mode until GDM came back. The video card wasn't doing anything stressful, although I was watching a movie using totem about 3 minutes before.
I've attached the Xorg.0.log.old file that contains the information, but the relevant bit of backtrace is: Backtrace: 0: /usr/bin/X(xf86SigHandler+0x6a) [0x48402a] 1: /lib/libc.so.6 [0x7fc9ecd9d100] 2: /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers//nvidia_drv.so(_nv000754X+0x6a) [0x7fc9ea83937a] Fatal server error: Caught signal 11. Server aborting This is on AMD64, and it's been running in this configuration quite happily since hardy beta. I don't know if it's relevant, but I am currently running hardy-proposed. This is the first time I've seen this crash. ** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- X server segfault in nvidia drivers https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/236819 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
