How can a bug which crashes X upon receipt of an instant message possibly be
have an "undecided" level of importance?
As far as I can tell, the only fix for this is to nuke everything and then
install a version of Ubuntu that's years old.

It's not fair to place the blame for this all on Nvidia, even if it's
entirely their fault- a change to whatever Kopete does that crashes X
would help us all, pointing the finger at Nvidia while doing nothing
about it is helping no-one. Nvidia no doubt can't be bothered trying to
debug a 3rd party application to find out how it convinces the driver to
finally crash.

Canonical sent me this broken OS, it's THEIR responsibility to put
pressure on Nvidia and the Kopete authors to sort something out, yet I
see no mention of anyone contacting either organization, and in the
meantime three releases have gone by with a bug that instantly crashes
everything on the desktop.

What the hell is going on at Ubuntu HQ these days that something like
this can be of an "undecided" level of importance, let alone left
unpatched after so long?
