Baruch, can you try with mozilla-thunderbird version 1.5.0.13+1.5.0.15 ~prepatch080417a-0ubuntu0.7.04.1 if you are unable to upgrade to Hardy or you cant install a clean copy of Ubuntu Hardy, They should be somewhere in ubuntu.com i fairly sure it goes back to dapper
