I can also confirm this issue with the latest kernel upgrade to 2.6.24-17 : no resume after hibernate, the systems hangs with exactly the same symptoms and messages as Péter describes above. To recover, I need to force shutdown with the power button. Same problem when resuming from suspend to ram. Both resume processes works fine if I revert to 2.6.24-16. My machine is a Dell dimension 9100, running i386 version.
