I had a similar problem (see below) on Ubuntu 8.04 but the problem disappeared once I registered the ipod with itunes and upgraded ipod software. I have a suspicion the problem may have something to do with mac file system originally shipped with the ipod.
Here is my original problem. Rhythmbox would crash the moment the Ipod was mounted. This is before I used ITunes to register the IPod. $ rhythmbox (rhythmbox:14209): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_type_instance_get_private: assertion `instance != NULL && instance->g_class != NULL' failed Segmentation fault -- gtkpod and rhythmbox crash when ipod is mounted https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/199326 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
