I'm experiencing the exact same problem, with the font size not only shrinking randomly, but also getting bigger. This seems to be the same as [https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox/+bug/201056 this] bug, though.
It may also be related to [https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/liferea/+bug/203157 this] issue.
