I can verify the steps and the results, although I am not sure if there should be any effort spent on chaning the current behaviour. Nautils makes sure there are no naming conflicts which is what the renaming algorithm is about. After you copy "file1 (another copy)" again, you'll get "file1 (3rd copy)", so I guess that is intended behaviour.
