I have the same problem on my persario v3113au laptop, random freeze with 169.12 nvidia driver, during the freeze, keyboard and mouse no response , cannot switch between tty1~7, sounds like kernel panic. no error message could be found on sys.log and kern.log. now I switch the driver to xorg-nv driver. everything work fine without opengl and compiz.
