Did you do an upgrade to your Ubuntu installation? Please check file->work online.
seb: After upgrading Ubuntu, Evolution is getting in offline mode. There are loads of reports like this in the gnome bugtracker. -- Evolution 2.22.1 won't sent/receive email. Icon is gray, F9 does not do anything.
