Simon, I don't have a digital camera to take a photograph of the tty1. Matt, when the installation crashes, the system no longer responds to the mouse nor keyboard. I would love to provide you with a full dmesg but I wouldn't know how under those circumstances.
As for the most recent successful installation, I meant to say the version was Knot 3 rather than Knot 2. Sorry for the confusion. I am trying to reproduce the problem but the installation is failing on something else now. On the one hand, this is looking like a hardware failure. On the other hand, I am also getting installation failures on other systems.
