I'm having the same problem with evince in Hardy. Attached is a PDF file that freezes while loading...sometimes (see below). It seems to happen with many different PDFs but the bug is inconsistent. The problem only happens if evince opens maximized. For example, I opened the attached PDF twice and it froze in the loading page until I minimized and unminimized it. The third time I opened the file, evince opened maximized, quickly unmaximized, and the file loading correctly. The forth time I opened the file, evince opened unmaximized and the file loaded correctly.
