: Friendly WARNING:
First, backup all your data, just in case...

And the only thing that you need to follow the instructing is to download the 
package from:
ftp://ftp.alsa-project.org/pub/driver/alsa-driver-1.0.16.tar.bz2

Then extracted to your home directory

Go to the alsa-driver-1.0.16/alsa-kernel/pci/hda/patch_via.c

and replace the code as instructed from the thread:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=556217

After that is done, save the file, you will need to open a terminal from
Applications> Accessories> Terminal

then continue with the thread run the following command (if each steps
does give you any error):

cd alsa-driver-1.0.16/
./configure
make
sudo make install
