sudo vim /var/lib/gdm/0.Xauth vim gives this error: "Unable to open swap file for "/var/lib/gdm/0.Xauth", Recovery impossible Then it display an empty (new) file. In dmesg, I didn't notice anything particular except the following : - Apparmor: appArmo initialized - Failure registering capabilities with primary security module ... ACPI: Looking for DSDT in initramfs... error, file /DSDT.aml not found. ... some "iomem range Ox... could not be reserved" errors Reminded: When the problem happens (always on battery power), I can reboot any number of time, it still won't work. The only way to make it work again is to plug the laptop on sector power (I do not change anything else). The problem IS related to the fact that the laptop is on battery power or not.
