I am sorry, but I don't have any idea what you are saying or what you are telling me to do. What is "compiling"? What is an "fglrx"? What is "openGL"? And what do you mean "patches" will be delivered to the "original tvtime version"? I have also gone to the "mcentral" link and don't have the slightest understanding of what I saw there.
Look, I am obviously a first time user, but if Ubuntu wants to gain wider commitment to Linux, information needs to be provided in common, easily understood instruction - yes, that means "hold my hand." I asked in my previous note: 1. Is there a projected time for a fix? I understand not now, but when? 2. How will the fix be delivered? Again, no answer. I need an answer to these two questions, because I need to use the TV card. Since the Hardy upgrade, use of the card has be curtailed. If a fix is going to take weeks (as it has already) or months, I will need to end the use of Ubuntu completely or go back to the older version (if I can). As a new user, I do not want to hear about cryptic code changes within some obscure program deep within the architecture of the operating system (if that was what all of the previous discussion in this section was). I was referred to this "bug fix" area as the ANSWER. It appears to be more of a series of hacker questions than any sort of answer. I am very disappointed! -- [hardy] tvtime won't show anything with fglrx https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/210132 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
